In the last paragraph of today's Sun-Times article, Fran Spielman includes a quote from Metropolitan Planning Council board member Bernard Lloyd.
This quote is the most self-contradicting statement I've read in any news article. The logic appears to be thus:
A. Labor Unions (specifically SEIU) have spent hundreds of thousands of dollars on targeted aldermanic races.
B. This form of campaign funding is intimidating and unacceptable.
C. The "civic community" (specifically the Chicagoland Chamber of Commerce) should "step up" to counter-balance the labor unions' money and muscle, by spending more money.
